Linnaeus Pendergast was the last master of the Maison de la Rochenoire in New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his wife Isabella had two sons, Aloysius and Diogenes.
Linnaeus was a stern man who could be violent when angry; his notorious temper left other adult family members frightened of him. A smoker, he often smelled of Latakia tobacco. He was largely an absent father, often away on business.
He died along with Isabella when a local mob set fire to Rochenoire, burning it to the ground.
